Derby Day is coming to Norwalk again this year! Hosted by BJ Ryan’s BanC House & Greer Southern Table, this family-friendly block party has everything you need for an unforgettable Derby Day filled with live music, Southern-inspired food specials, a best-dressed pup contests, and more! 

To prepare for and accommodate the event, River Street will be closed between Wall Street and Burnell Blvd. during the event, which will last from 2 – 10 pm.

      • Mechanic Street/Wall St. Lot: 42 Wall St.

Park Norwalk St. Patrick’s Day Parade Parking Announcement

Norwalk is gearing up for an incredible St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Organized by the Norwalk Police Emerald Society, the parade will commence at 11:00 a.m. from Veteran’s Park. The procession will travel through South Norwalk (SoNo), moving onto Washington Street and North Main Street, culminating at O’Neill’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, located at 93 N Main St, Norwalk, CT 06854.

Following the parade, attendees are invited to join a ceremony and celebration with festivities at the Guinness Tent located in the backyard of O’Neill’s.

Parking Options:

For those driving to the event, several parking facilities are conveniently located near the parade route:​

  • Veteran’s Memorial Park: 42 Seaview Avenue
  • North Water Street Lot: 4 North Water Street
  • Haviland Lot: 5 Haviland Street
  • Maritime Garage: 11 North Water Street
  • Webster Lot: 55 Martin Luther King Drive

Road Closures:

Certain roads will be temporarily closed to traffic for the event to accommodate the parade.

  • Washington Street: From the intersection at North Main Street to Water Street.​
  • North Main Street: Extending from Washington Street to Ann Street.​

These closures usually begin shortly before the parade starts and reopen once the procession has passed. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and arrive early to secure the best viewing spots. Pedestrians and cyclists should also be mindful of restricted crossings along the parade route and use designated areas for safe passage.

Maritime Garage Lost Ticket Fee

For those parking at the Maritime Garage in South Norwalk, please be aware that the Lost Ticket Fee is $25.00. This fee applies if you misplace your parking ticket during your stay. To avoid this charge, we recommend keeping your ticket in a safe, easily accessible location.

SoNo Train Station Lost Ticket Fee

Commuters and travelers using the South Norwalk Train Station parking facilities should note that the Lost Ticket Fee has been set at $50.00. This applies to both the garage and surface lot at the station.

Notice: Temporary Closure of East Norwalk Train Station

The City of Norwalk, in conjunction with the Norwalk Parking Authority, wishes to inform all residents and commuters that the East Norwalk Train Station will be temporarily closed from August 17 to September 6, 2024, for necessary maintenance and upgrades. During this period, the station will be inaccessible to all public transit users.

Alternative Routes for Public Transit Users:

  • MTA Services: We encourage those who typically use the East Norwalk Train Station to plan their commute through the South Norwalk Train Station or Westport Train Station. Both stations will be fully operational during this period, and regular MTA services will continue without interruption.
  • Norwalk Transit Bus Services: To accommodate affected commuters, Norwalk Transit will be enhancing its bus routes to provide convenient access to nearby stations. Please check the Norwalk Transit website for updated schedules and routes to ensure a smooth transition during this period. See the schedule here.

Norwalk Parking Authority Joins Norwalk Night Out!

On August 1st, the Norwalk Parking Authority had a fantastic time participating in Norwalk Night Out, a community event aimed at strengthening relationships between residents and local organizations. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community and support our customers directly.

Under the ParkNorwalk tent, we were busy answering questions about our parking services, sharing valuable information about our parking lots, and addressing any concerns residents had. We also had some great giveaways, including branded water bottles, handheld fans, and informative brochures to help everyone navigate our parking facilities with ease.
